Suspect in Attempted Ankeny Medicap Pharmacy Robbery Leads Police on 100 MPH Chase
Police said the suspect fled Ankeny's Medicap Pharmacy, leading officers on a chase through parking lots and roads at speeds reaching 100 miles per hour.

A high-speed police chase through Ankeny parking lots continued into Des Moines, reaching speeds of 100 miles per hour before a crash ended the incident Thursday afternoon, according to KCCI.com.
Police told the TV station Devin Parsons, 21, of Des Moines, attempted to rob the Medicap Pharmacy in Altoona Thursday afternoon.
Employees reportedly recognized him from a November drug robbery at the same store and the staff set off security alarms.

Police said Parsons then tried to rob the Medicap Pharmacy at 107 N.E. Delaware Ave. in Ankeny a short time later. Authorities said Parsons fled the store, entered the Menards store parking lot on Delaware Avenue and his vehicle allegedly rammed two police cars.
The chase headed south down Delaware Avenue before ending at 2:15 p.m. at the intersection of Delaware and Guthrie avenues on the north side of Des Moines. KCCI reported a pickup truck collided with the truck being chased after Parsons' vehicle allegedly ran the red light.

He was arrested and is charged with robbery, eluding and officer and assault with a deadly weapon.
Police said it was amazing that no one was seriously hurt during the incident. They said speeds reached close to 100 mph.
In all, four law enforcement vehicles were damaged during the chase.
