A teenage male came into Casey's General Store, 2905 W. First St., and tried to buy four bottles of liquor. He gave the sales clerk an ID, and was turned down because he was underage. The youth then told the clerk he'd forgotten to hand her his fake ID.

Sept. 2
A man called police to say that he and his friends were worried they were going to be jumped when they left Jake's Pub, 605 N. Ankeny Blvd. The call followed an argument in the bar over the group's preference for the Iowa State Cyclones.

Sept. 3
Police were called to Interstate 35 northbound in the city limits to check on an elderly man riding a bicycle on the interstate. Officers told the man to get off the interstate and gave him directions to take Southeast Delaware to get to Walmart, which is where he wanted to go.
