This Week in Ankeny Weather: Time to Put Away Those Jackets Yet?

You better believe it. This week's central Iowa forecast is (finally) calling for some weather that seems much better suited for May.

If you're like me, you've probably about had it with the cold, unseasonable weather Ankeny and central Iowa have been experiencing this spring.

Well, that's all about to change.

This week's forecast is beginning to look a lot like May, and some hot – yes, you heard right – temperatures are heading our way for Tuesday. Winds will be our biggest problem earlier in the week, and it appears any chance of significant rain will stay away until later in the week.

Need a second opinion? Here's what WHO Channel 13 in Des Moines has to say about this week's weather:

Monday will be a windy and warm day in Central Iowa. Skies are mostly sunny and temperatures will warm quickly to the upper 70s thanks to strong south winds at 10 to 20 mph.

Skies will remain mostly clear tonight, as the temperatures dip to the upper 50s. Record breaking heat is possible on Tuesday. The forecasted high is 94 degrees. The old record is 93 degrees set in 1988.

Isolated shower and storm chances return on Wednesday.
