This Week in Ankeny Weather: Will This Rain Ever Go Away?

It might be safe to assume most of us are ready for these clouds to depart and the sun to shine down on Ankeny.

Unfortunately, we still might not see much of it this week.

According to the National Weather Service, there's a good chance of rain every day this week through Friday, adding more soggy misery to the wet Memorial Day weekend we just came out of.

In addition the the rain, temperatures will stay consistent in the upper 70s to lower 80s.

Here's a peek at this week's forecast:

Tuesday Night: Showers and thunderstorms likely, mainly after 5am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 65. South wind around 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

Wednesday: A 50 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 81. Breezy, with a south wind 8 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph.

Thursday: Showers and thunderstorms likely. Cloudy, with a high near 78. Breezy, with a south wind 15 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 23 mph. Chance of precipitation is 70%. 

Friday: Showers and thunderstorms likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 78. Chance of precipitation is 60%.

It looks like the clouds could clear some Saturday, as the chance of rain drops to 40 percent and the forecast calls for partly cloudy skies. 

Maybe a Memorial Day weekend re-do? We'll see.
