"Trick-or-Treating for Canned Goods" Our Lady's Immaculate Heart Catholic Church Youth-led canned food drive on Wednesday October 30th Beggar's Night,

"Trick-or-Treating for Canned Goods" - Youth serving the hungry!

Every Beggar's night for at least the last 10 years, the teens from Our Lady's Immaculate Heart Church collect non -perishable food items door-to-door and donate their haul to DMARC and other local food pantries.  In the late-Fall we've learned that many of the food-distribution agencies that we partner with are alarmed at how quickly their supplies run low.  Our donation of 1000's of cans and boxed food comes at a crucial time.  We will be collecting in the neighborhoods surrounding our church on 1st street, will head north and hope to collect from neighborhoods East of North Ankeny Blvd.

We're hoping you might help our youth - continue to serve our Des Moines area hungry on Wednesday October 30th.  If you'd like to donate some items, have them ready at your door and we'll be by between 5pm-8pm.  Your generosity is appreciated.  Feel free to contact R. Henderson at Our Lady's Immaculate Heart Church with any questions or ways to help: 515-964-3038
