Are you looking for a Fall activity this year? The Ankeny Art Center has classes for both children and adults that will help you to discover the extraordinary world of creativity while learning the fundamentals of art. Are your looking for a new way to draw upon your imagination and to express yourself? Taking a class at the Ankeny Art Center will help you to get that creativity flowing!
With several options for students of all ages, the Ankeny Art Center encourages students to become life-long learners and use the process of creating art as a means to interact with the world around us. There is something for everyone with classes in watercolor painting, art exploration, ceramics/pottery, clay hand-building, yoga and more.
Have you always wanted to try working with clay on the potter's wheel? If you have little to no clay experience and want to try pottery- give this class a whirl! There is a beginner's class and an intermediate class offered for adults. On the other hand, if you’ve always wanted to paint with watercolors but aren’t sure where to start, try the Watercolor Basics class with instructor Jan Globuschutz (the President of the Iowa Watercolor Society).
Children can discover painting, drawing and other art methods in the Art Exploration class. Young artists will also learn to produce creative clay projects in the Pottery Hand-building class. Regardless of the class, children will learn the fundamentals of art and feel successful with their efforts while having fun and appreciating the process of creating art.
