What's Open and What's Closed on Christmas in Ankeny?

Needing to return a library book or pay a parking ticket? It might have to wait till Wednesday next week.

Many public and government offices in Ankeny will be closed throughTuesday  in observance of Christmas. Other municipal services may be disrupted as well.

Here's a quick look at what buildings will be closed when:

City of Ankeny

• City offices will close at 12 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 24 and remain closed through Tuesday, Dec. 25.
• All offices will re-open at 8 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26.

Kirkendall Public Library

• The library will be closed Dec. 24-25.
• The building will re-open at 9 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 26.

Ankeny Chamber of Commerce

• The Ankeny Area Chamber of Commerce will be closed Dec. 24-25.

• The Chamber office will re-open at 8:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 26.

Ankeny Community School District

• The Ankeny schools district office will be closed Tuesday, Dec. 25.
• The building will re-open at 9 a.m. on Wednesday, Dec. 26.

Ankeny Post Office

• The Ankeny Post Office will be closed on Tuesday in observance of the holiday.
• The post office will reopen on Wednesday at 8:45 a.m.

Garbage Pickup

• Ankeny Sanitation: Christmas Day is a holiday observed by Ankeny Sanitation. All pickup will run one day behind this week.

• Metro Waste Authority: Tuesday through Friday pickup will be delayed to the next day. All facilities will be closed.

• Waste Management of Iowa: Although the Des Moines office will be closed, collection will continue as normal. There will be no delay in pickup.
