Why is the IRS Targeting the American Legion?
The IRS's targeting activities have continued, not ended.
After the IRS's targeting of conservative and Jewish groups was exposed, that activity was denounced by the White House, as they said they would not tolerate it anymore.
So why is the IRS continuing to target specific groups?
We discovered last week that the IRS is still passing applications for non-profit status from conservative groups through a political review process. Now we learn that the IRS is targeting the American Legion, which is a veterans group, requiring that they "maintain dates of service and character of service records for all members" as proof of eligibility and provide that evidence to the IRS, and the penalty could be $1000 a day for not complying.
Why is the IRS targeting veterans groups? Why haven't they stopped the targeting activities which the White House says they will not tolerate?
