Woman Dies After Being Shot in Ankeny Apartment
Police were called to an Ankeny apartment complex Friday evening where they found the victim with a single fatal gunshot wound.
A woman was shot dead Friday night at an Ankeny apartment complex, according to police.
The Ankeny Police Department was called to Delaware Crossing Apartments, 903 S.E. Delaware Ave., at approximately 5:35 p.m after receiving a report that someone had been shot, a media release from the department said.
Upon arrival, officers found an 18-year-old female with a fatal gunshot wound, the release said. A handgun was recovered at the scene.
According to police, two male subjects were also in the apartment at the time of the incident. One of the men admitted to discharging the weapon.
Both men were taken to the police department for questioning, the release said, and police are still investigating the incident to determine whether or not it was intentional.
