• Bettendorf Public Library takes show on road with BettConnect (wvik.org) — Bettendorf's new BettConnect outreach vehicle is now on the road, bringing 1,500 popular books, free Wi‑Fi, and on-the-spot library cards directly into neighborhoods, schools, parks, and senior facilities. Funded through local donors and the Bettendorf Public Library Foundation, the rolling mini-library aims to reach residents facing transportation or mobility challenges and invites community requests for future stops.
   

• Arconic Davenport Works Manufacturing Day Celebration with Quad Cities-Area Students (rcreader.com) — Students from around the region are invited to Arconic's Learning Center in Bettendorf on Friday, Oct. 2, for hands-on Manufacturing Day sessions from 9–11 a.m. and 12–2 p.m. The program will showcase modern manufacturing careers in the Quad Cities, with Arconic employees leading interactive stations on engineering, skilled trades, safety, and operations.
   

• QC investor group acquires Happy Joe's (ourquadcities.com) — Happy Joe's Pizza & Ice Cream, including its company-owned restaurants in Bettendorf and Davenport, has been acquired by a group of Quad Cities investors who plan to keep the brand's family-friendly traditions while updating menus and supporting franchisees. The company will remain headquartered in the Quad Cities, with promised investments in local restaurants and future announcements on new offerings.
