Hearth Fest is a music and arts festival that benefits the Northeast Iowa Food Bank. Monetary or non-perishable food donations are admission. Every dollar donated helps to provide 5 meals to those in need. Last year over $3400 was raised through all of our efforts. Local visual and musical artists donate their talents and artwork. There’s a silent art auction, craft sale, acoustic music, poetry contests and kids activities throughout the day, including a kid’s poster art contest for prizes. There will be a “Karma Café” on site as well. Homemade pies like Grandma used to make and coffee will be served. Patrons pay what they can and/or donate time. The Dean of Juggling will make an appearance in the afternoon. Face Painting will be available from 2 pm until 4:30 pm for a donation from Make It Up Facepainting & Two Bees Design. Insulated reusable bags and can kozies will be offered for sale. The Cedar Valley Acoustic Guitar Association musicians, Raldo Schneider, and others will play. This event is on a Sunday to showcase it as a fun family event.
