Peter Seldin to present lecture on teaching evaluation at UNI

CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- Peter Seldin, an expert on evaluating teaching, will deliver his lecture, "College Teaching: Myths, Evaluation and the Characteristics of
Great Teachers" at 1 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 15, in the Center for Multicultural Education (CME) on the University of Northern Iowa campus.

The presentation aims to determine what separates "good" teachers from "great" teachers. The lecture will address changing practices in teaching evaluation and the results of a nationwide longitudinal study of evaluation practices. In addition to the lecture, Seldin will also present a
workshop and meet with UNI faculty and administrators.

Seldin has served as a consultant on higher education issues at more than 350 colleges and universities across the United States and in 45 countries and has authored
numerous books and articles on teaching and teaching
evaluation.
