CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- The University of Northern Iowa's Residence Hall Association (RHA) is giving students the opportunity to create a one-of-a-kind pair of shoes while providing a pair of shoes to a child in need. Students will decorate their shoes from 2:30 to 5:30 p.m., on Monday, Oct. 22, in the Commons Ballroom on the UNI campus.

The event is a part of RHA's TOMS community service project. The project involved selling pairs of TOMS shoes to UNI students, which students will have the chance to decorate at the upcoming event. TOMS shoes then provides a pair of shoes to a child in need for every pair of shoes sold. More than 448 people are participating in the program, so an equal number of shoes have been donated as a result.
