UNI Continuing and Distance Education to offer Master of Music in Music Education degree at a distance

University of Northern Iowa’s Continuing and Distance Education is accepting applications for its upcoming cohort degree program, beginning in the fall of 2013 and leading to a Master of Music in Music Education. This program is designed to help individuals develop leadership skills as an accomplished teacher, enhance teaching credentials, advance their pay, gain access to current educational trends and issues and broaden perspectives on music education.

The MM degree will be earned at a distance, with courses delivered online via eLearning, a Blackboard learning environment, and Adobe Connect, an interactive video conferencing platform. Some summer courses require limited on-campus attendance. Courses begin in the fall of 2013 using a cohort model in which groups of students move together through the coursework, with the degree to be awarded in the fall of 2015.
