CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- The University of Northern Iowa will host the 2012 Iowa Thespian Festival for the third time on Nov. 9 and 10. The festival is a two-day event, which brings together more than 1,000 high school students, teachers and chaperones from across the state to celebrate theatre.
Participants can watch performances in the Gallagher-Bluedorn Performing Arts Center, Strayer-Wood Theatre and the Wellness and Recreation Center. High school students will have the opportunity to perform and compete in individual theatrical events, receive college scholarships, and attend workshops to further increase their knowledge of theatre. The festival also provides an opportunity for UNI students to share their knowledge of the theatre as well as represent and promote UNI.
