The University of Northern Iowa will host the sixth annual Polar Bare Run, Walk or Roll on Tuesday, Nov. 6, on the UNI campus. The event begins with check-in at the UNI Alumni House starting at 9 p.m. and the race begins at 9:30 p.m.
Participants wear new or gently used coats, hats, mittens and scarves to the event, then shed their winter gear before embarking on the one-mile course. Those unable to participate who wish to donate winter clothing items may bring donations to the event or drop them off at the UNI Alumni House. All clothing is donated to the Salvation Army.
The event is sponsored by the University of Northern Iowa Alumni Association and its student group, Connecting Alumni to Students (CATS). Registration is $5, and includes a T-shirt if registered BEFORE Oct. 25. Registration will be open until the day of the event.
