Window Wonderland Brings Awe to Downtown

The competition was intense at this year’s Window Wonderland Contest, but the results are in! Downtown business owners did a fabulous job of transforming the downtown district into a beautiful window wonderland featuring displays with the theme of “Magical Nights, Magical Lights.”

Judging occurred in two stages – by judges, and through People’s Choice voting.  On Tuesday, November 20^th, a panel of judges carefully reviewed each of the beautiful window displays and gave out several awards.  Judges included Melody Parker, Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier; Eileen Loan, KWWL; and Kathy Flack. Voting ballots were also made available at all participating merchants so patrons could vote for their favorite window. The results are in and winners are as follows:

Most Original: Vintage Iron

Best Use of Theme: Kitchen Essentials

Glass Only: Maid-Rite

Non-Retail Business: L&N Transportation

Best Kids Appeal: Caboose Stop

People’s Choice: Ivy Trellis
