Cold & Flu - What NOT To Share This Holiday Season: Health and Wellness Blog
Iowa has a moderate to severe cold & flu level - would you like to stay healthy during the holidays?

According to WebMD, Iowa has a moderate to severe cold & flu level (and we have just started “the season”). They recommend taking care of ourselves, frequent hand washing, lots of fluids, and rest. Even though we just talked about cold and flu a couple months ago, the WebMD maps shows that we still have a sick state. We have learned a lot this year about taking care of ourselves through Blue Zones and lifestyle choices that can help us live healthier lives. This week I will share my natural Recipe for the Cold & Flu. Although it seems like a lot, it has saved me MANY times. What will you do to stay healthy during the holidays?
- Rest, pure water, healthy eating, positive environment,
(just like Blue Zones recommend) . . . - Hydration
- Probiotic – because our gut impacts ~70% of our immune system
- Echinacea - when you feel that first tickle or to shorten the duration and strength of your bug
- C – natural anti-histamine, supports immune system
- Garlic - natural antibiotic
- Immune support
- Multivitamin/multimineral
- Zinc - important for healing
- Protein - makes everything else you consume work better
- Alfalfa- tremendous source of vitamins and mineral, natural anti-histamine and detoxifier
