Organizing For The Holidays: Health and Wellness Blog
Would you prefer a stress-free holiday over a stress-ful holiday? Try these organizing tips on for size!

I have found that a little organization makes a stress-free holiday instead of a stress-ful holiday. Since we always promote starting early, try these tips on for size no matter what holiday(s) you plan to celebrate this season. Amongst all the hustle and bustle, I wish each of you lots of fun with family and friends and memories that will touch your heart for years to come!
- Decorations – luckily holiday decorations also serve as party decorations. Therefore, you can decorate early to make more time for the things you have to do last minute.
- Keep it simple: the holidays are more about time with family and friends than the perfect meal or the cleanest house. Memories are priceless :).
- Night before: prepare as much as possible before the day of your gathering.
- Cleaning: while you may need to spot clean the day before company arrives, schedule most major cleaning a week in advance and concentrate on the rooms guests will see. If something goes wrong or you forget something, laugh - it burns more calories :).
- Guests: give them jobs too. Most house guests want to help and more hands usually make faster work.
- Cards: if you have a busy holiday season, consider mailing them for a different holiday. I for one would love to randomly receive cards throughout the year.
- Presents: consider an experiential gift, certificate, or a favorite dish if you need a new idea.
- Work: do you still have unfinished projects at work? Prioritize, delegate, and let go. Giving yourself a little space may even help you discover answers to some lingering questions.
- When & Where: if family cannot agree on a time and place because of all their other commitments, you may have better luck scheduling between or after the holidays. Plus, you get to extend the festivities :).
