Save The Date for Healthiest State Walk: Health and Wellness Blog
Last year, we walked 291,000 strong for a healthier Iowa. Walking plays a part in preventing heart disease, diabetes, and cancer. Save the date for this years' walk and register today!

According to Iowa Healthiest State, we made history last October when more than 291,000 Iowans participated in Start Somewhere Walks that kicked off the Healthiest State Initiative.
On Wednesday, October 3, we’re going to do it all again. Take time out of your day to walk a kilometer (0.62 miles) with friends, family, neighbors or co-workers and be part of this life-changing movement.
New to the Healthiest State Walk this year is Talk the Walk, a contest where people recruit others to join their specific walks. For every person who is successfully recruited, both the recruiter and new participant will be entered into a drawing for one of several Hy-Vee gift cards.

I have always known the power of accountability, and I still find it amazing how that accountability motivates me to make time for my commitments even when I have 10 other items on my to-do list and just do not feel like it. Consider this a multi-tasking event – exercise and accountability PLUS fellowship and vitamin D (hopefully)!
