Summer Camps at Hartman Reserve: Cedar Valley Hunger Games and the Magic of Nature: Naturalist Blog

Hartman Reserve Nature Center is offering low cost summer camps to a wide age range of children.

Once again is offering summer camps for children entering kindergarten through those entering ninth grade.

The theme for this summer's camps is “The Magic of Nature”.

With titles like Real Fairies, Forest Gnomes, and Water Nymphs for kindergartners and first graders, and Nature’s Magicians, Phoenix Camp, and Ents for second and third grade, kids will have a chance to explore nature while learning about pollinators, aquatic invertebrates, decomposers, natural metamorphosis and the characteristics of trees.

The camps for kindergartners through third graders are on Tuesdays and Thursdays and run from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Older kids can attend day-long camps that run from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on Mondays and Wednesdays. Sticking with the “Magic” theme, the topics for older kids include Mud Magic, the Magic of Color, Time Travelers, Woodland Magic, and Cryptozoology: The Hunt for Bigfoot.
