The Cedar Bend Thundering Toms

Greetings and hello from the Cedar Bend Thundering Toms. As our name implies, this blog is going to be about turkey hunting and being a part of the great outdoors. All members of the Thundering Toms are outdoors enthusiasts. We enjoy fishing, hunting, hiking, camping, and promoting wildlife conservation. 

The Cedar Bend Thundering Toms is the local chapter of the National Wild Tukey Federation, and we just celebrated our 10th anniversary. We host two key events each year: our NWTF Hunting Heritage Banquet and our annual JAKES Day Event.

JAKES Day is really what I think our chapter is all about. Teaching kids, ages 5 to 15, about archery, trap shooting, wildlife conservation and how to appreciate and enjoy the great outdoors, is the key to preserving our hunting heritage. 

There's more to life than just going to work and making a living. Being in the woods, whether its hunting, or fishing, or just hiking around, is something everyone can enjoy. I hope what we share here, in the weeks and months ahead, will motivate others to find out what it means to be a Thundering Tom.
