To Be or To Do, That is the Question: Health and Wellness Blog

As a small business owner, I often wonder what I can "do" to improve. Have you ever considered how "being" different could improve your health, both at work and personally?

Creating a healthier life includes everything from physical health to financial health to spiritual health, which influences our work (and life). Every industry has a myriad of tools to help do the job and serve the customer. Many companies have increased their focus on customer service to set them apart from the competition – adding a personal touch. They have decided to be a champion for and better serve their customers. This year I have led a conference call series on Being & Doing. As the Spirit leads us, we have started to develop, experience, and share the tools that help us be the person we want to be in our business (and life).

 

This happens to also support two of the Blue Zones Power 9™: community and know your purpose. According to Blue Zones Project, all but five of the 263 centenarians interviewed in the original Blue Zones® areas studies belonged to some faith-based community. It doesn't matter if you're Christian, Buddhist, Muslim, Jewish or another religion. What matters is that you attend regularly and truly feel part of a larger group. Research shows that attending faith-based services four times per month will add 4-14 years of life expectancy. . . . According to National Geographic researcher Dan Buettner, people who know why they wake up in the morning live up to seven years longer than those who don’t.
