Tracking and Survival: Two Programs at Hartman Reserve This Weekend

Brush up on some of your outdoors skills, and learn some new ones this weekend at Hartman Reserve.

This weekend at you can attend two different programs to hone your outdoors skills.  On Saturday, March 17th from 9 to 10:30 a.m. is Wildlife Tracking. Take a walk through the woods to discover the different tracks and signs that animals leave behind.  Time will also be spent discussing how animals survive in their environment.

Then on Sunday, March 18th you can learn how a simple sheet of fabric could save your life during Bushcraft Survival: Tarp Versatility. A tarp is a simple, light-weight, inexpensive item of gear that should be considered in your daypack while on outdoor excursions. The program will cover the wide variety of applications that tarps can be used towards from shelters, to carrying an injured camper.

If you have any questions about this, or any other programs at Hartman Reserve Nature Center contact Chris Anderson; Program Coordinator at chris.hrnc@gmail.com or call (319) 277-2187.
