Those over-achieving spring flowers might get nipped early Friday morning.
The National Weather Service advises patchy frost forecast for north central and northeast Iowa could dip into central and eastern Iowa, where spring flowers are blooming about a month ahead of schedule.
Want to save them? Cover them.
A freeze warning remains in effect until 8 a.m. Friday. Temperatures are expected to dip to around 30 degrees. During the day Friday, look for sunny skies with a seasonal high near 61 and breezy conditions.
