To mark the occasion, Gov. Terry Branstad has ordered all flags in the state to be flown at half-staff from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. That includes facilities such as Cedar Falls City Hall, police and fire departments.

The act is set to honor those who perished in the attacks, a release from the governor's office said Monday.
