Hotel Employee Allegedly Stole From Guests (And Other Arrests): Cedar Falls Police Blotter

The following information was provided by the police. It does not represent a conviction.


A former Comfort Inn and Suites employee was arrested Wednesday and charged with stealing a laptop and a Nook e-reader from hotel guests.

Ashley Marie Hambly, 25, of 700-113 W. Ridgeway Road, was arrested at 10:53 a.m. at the same location and charged with second-degree theft, possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and fourth-degree theft.

Police said she allegedly stole a laptop valued at $1200 from a guest at the hotel at 7402 Nordic Drive. They said she had allegedly stolen a Nook e-reader valued at $435 on a previous occasion. The drug charges were unrelated to the thefts.

Kaycee Lynn Grays, 34, female, of Waterloo, arrested at 5:21 p.m. at 525 Brandilynn Blvd., charged with fifth degree theft.

May 24:

Angela Marie Nissen, 21, female, of Waterloo, arrested at 10:36 a.m. at 324 Hartman Ave., charged with forgery.

Travis James Krum, 24, male, of 700-743 W. Ridgeway Ave., arrested at 10:36 a.m. at 324 Hartman Ave., charged with forgery.
