Cedar Falls Waterloo University Avenue Reconstruction Project Update

During this time, the adjacent side roads and the intersections of Fletcher Avenue and Ansborough Avenue will remain open.

The City of Waterloo and their contractor are continuing work on the reconstruction of the University Avenue Reconstruction Project Phases 1, 2, and 3 from Midway Drive to Hwy 63. Below is how this will impact Cedar Falls starting the week of March 29, 2021:

Phase 2 (Midway Drive to Greenhill Road) – University Avenue traffic will have lane closures from Access B (Tunis) to Access A (Casey’s Gas) for reconstruction work.

Phase 1 (Greenhill Road to Ansborough Avenue) – University Avenue traffic will continue to have lane closures as needed for minor work.

Phase 3 (Ansborough Avenue to Hwy 63) – Beginning as early as March 29, University Avenue from east of Ansborough Avenue to west of Fletcher Avenue will be closed to traffic in order to begin reconstruction of the roadway. During this time, the adjacent side roads and the intersections of Fletcher Avenue and Ansborough Avenue will remain open.

For safety purposes, please do not enter the construction area. It would be advisable to remain behind the sidewalk on the property side during the reconstruction work.
