Cedar Falls Woman Hospitalized With Serious Injuries After Motorcycle Accident

A Cedar Falls woman was hospitalized with serious injuries after the motorcycle she was driving collided with a flatbed straight truck.

Cedar Falls Police said the woman, Trina Cheever, 48, collided with the truck, driven by Anthony Wendling, 42, of Waterloo, when Wendling made a U-turn. Both were traveling east bound. The accident happened just before 7:40 a.m. at Lone Tree Road and Big Woods Road.

Cheever was taken to Allen Hospital for serious injuries and is being transferred to The University of Iowa Hospitals And Clinics in Iowa City.

The intersection was closed for approximately two hours.  Cedar Falls Police were assisted by the Iowa State Patrol. 

Wendling was cited for failure to yield upon making a U-turn.
