UNI CROW Forum: April 6 at 12pm in the UNI CME. Emily Harsch, winner of the Outstanding Graduate Research Paper on gender, will present.

CROW Forum will take place at 12 Noon, Monday, April 6, in the Center for Multicultural Education (Room 109A) in Maucker Union. The Outstanding Graduate Research Paper on gender will be presented by Emily Harsch.

Ms. Harsch, a first year UNI Women’s & Gender Studies graduate student, will present Linking Radical Feminism and Creative Nonfiction: “They’re Both Damned by Convention Anyway” and Better Arguments. This paper explores the feminist possibilities for transgression within the genre of creative nonfiction. In this paper, Harsch argues that this written genre contains the most promise for radical feminist work and should be embraced in struggle for social justice. The presentation will also include excerpts from one of her recent creative pieces, entitled “Stained.”

The Women’s & Gender Studies program sponsors the Current Research on Women forum series. Faculty, staff, students and members of the wider community are invited to gather for informal presentation and discussion.
