On Saturday, February 16, 2013, Cedar Falls High School Robotics FIRST Team 525 is hosting an open house to demonstrate the newest robot built for this year’s FIRST Robotics Competition, ULTIMATE ASCENTSM. Students will demonstrate and present about FIRST Robotics, the game and FRC Team 525.
ULTIMATE ASCENTSM is played by two competing alliances on a flat, 27 x 54 foot field. Each Alliance consists of three robots, and they compete to score as many discs into their goals as they can during a two (2)-minute and fifteen (15)-second match.
The FIRST Robotics Competition challenges teams of young people and their mentors to solve a common problem in a six-week time frame using a standard "kit of parts" and a common set of rules. Teams build robots from the parts and compete in games designed by Dean Kamen, Dr. Woodie Flowers, and a committee of engineers and other professionals.
