CROW Forum: "Effects of Social Movement and Institutional Networks on University Diversity Policies, Initiatives and Culture" by Dr. Ruth Chananie-Hill

University of Northern Iowa assistant professor of sociology, Ruth Chananie-Hill, will present her lecture, "Effects of Social Movement and Institutional Networks on University Diversity Policies, Initiatives and Culture," the Current Research on Women and Gender (CROW) forum from noon to 1 p.m., Monday, February 4th, in the Center for Multicultural Education, Room 109A."One of my main research interests is in social movements, and I was curious as to whether and how students' actions would result in any significant changes in terms of supporting diversity initiatives here at UNI," said Chananie-Hill. "I have a vested interest in seeing our campus become not only more diverse, but in its becoming a truly welcoming, inclusive space for everyone."

Chananie-Hill has published numerous works on topics such as social movements, race, and gender and sexuality. Her lecture is a part of the Current Research on Women and Gender Forum, a lecture series sponsored by UNI's Women's and Gender Studies Program.
