Tickets are now available for the 28th Annual Friends of Hartman Reserve’s Maple Syrup Festival. This fundraiser event features an all-you-can-eat pancake meal with real maple syrup processed from the sap of Hartman Reserve’s sugar maple trees. The meal includes sausage, Starbucks coffee, and Hansen’s Farm Fresh Dairy butter and milk. Cost at the door is $8 for adults and $5 for youth 3-12 years old. Ages 2 and under may eat at no cost. Tickets purchased through March 1 are discounted $1 each and can be purchased at Hartman Reserve or by calling (319) 277-2187.
The Festival is sponsored in part by Cedar Valley Podiatry/Foot & Ankle Center and will present the flapjack flipping talents of Chris Cakes, maple syrup processing demonstrations, and a nature-themed art activity provided by the Hearst Center for the Arts. Raffle prizes include a kayak package donated by CrawDaddy Outdoors, a bike package from Bike Tech, and a “Date Night” prize sponsored by Black Hawk Hotel and Barmuda.
PARK & RIDE: Shuttle buses will take you to the Nature Center door if you park at Cedar Heights Elementary School.
