Community Corner

Online Tools to Help Grow your Small Business

The University of Northern Iowa Small Business Development Center and MyEntre.Net business concierge will tackle technological tools for small business owners from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 23 in the Business and Community Services Building, Room 33.

The presentation will cover applications and online tools — such as Wave Accounting (www.waveaccounting.com), 99designs (www.99designs.com), Kickstarter (www.kickstarter.com) and Khan Academy (http://www.khanacademy.org/) — that can save business owners time, streamline their operations and boost their bottom lines. Presenters Rob Williams and Patrick Luensmann will also discuss some of the best free Google applications and how they can be implemented to facilitate Web surfing, email, website analytics and Internet marketing.

Williams is a business analyst for UNI Entrepreneurship Outreach and is the MyEntre.Net online entrepreneur community manager. Luensmann is the MyEntre.Net business concierge, answering business questions for the online community's 10,000 members.
