UNI Interpreters Theatre production to explore homelessness
CEDAR FALLS, Iowa -- According to the National Alliance to End Homelessness, there were an estimated 643,067 people who experienced homelessness in the United States in 2011. The University of Northern Iowa Interpreters Theatre production of "Home Is Where Your Dog Is" aims to explore the definition of home. Performances start at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 11 through Saturday, April 13, in the Interpreters Theatre in Lang Hall, Room 040.
The play was conceived, written and directed by graduate student Jorge De Leon. Set in modern day urban U. S., the show reveals the struggles of everyday life in the streets. By examining the relationship between Rusty and his dog Chucks, the show explores what happens when the social world begins to deconstruct itself and perhaps creates a new definition of home.

The event is free and open to the public. Seating is limited and tickets will be distributed on a first come, first served basis beginning at 6:30 p.m. Doors open at 7 p.m.
