For the first time ever, a male student is running for Homecoming Queen at UNI. Steven Sanchez, a transgender student, will perform in the royalty competition at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 8 in the Maucker Union.
Steven is heavily involved in UNI Proud and other diverse organizations on UNI's campus. He says he is excited for the chance to compete and perform for Homecoming Queen, and that representing his school and the LGBTQ community would be an incredible honor.
