Flood Warning Issued for Cedar River in Black Hawk County

The National Weather Service has issued a flood warning the Cedar River at Cedar Falls until Sunday morning. 

At 9:45 p.m. Monday the stage was 86.9 feet, or 1.1 feet below flood stage. Flood stage is 88. 

Major flooding is forecast, according to the Weather Service. The river is forecast to rise to flood stage early Tuesday morning and continue rising to 93.1 feet, or 5.1 feet above flood stage, Wednesday afternoon. The water is forecast to go below flood stage Sunday morning.
