James Alison and Brian McLaren in Conversation

James Alison is a Roman Catholic theologian and Alison is a Protestant leader. They are going to offer a joint lecture on Christianity in the 21st Century on Saturday, July 13, from 4-6 pm in Bengston Auditorium, Russell Hall, UNI.  The lecture is free and open to the public.

Brian McLaren and James Alison will discuss together the ways in which René Girard's insight have given Christians a new basic paradigm for Christianity in the 21st Century. With reference to the Jesus the Forgiving Victim course which is being launched, both will explore some of the differences which Girard makes to how Christians read the Bible, how they might live the reality of Church, and what sort of worldwide networks they might find themselves getting involved in as this understanding of Christianity takes wing.
