NEW STAFF JOINS BIG BROTHERS BIG SISTERS OF NORTHEAST IOWA

Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Iowa serves over 500 youth each year in Black Hawk, Bremer, Buchanan, Butler, Fayette and Floyd. Counties. The agency is proud to announce that with a recent partnership with the Waterloo School District the agency was able to add a new staff position in 2016.

Katie Wason has joined Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Iowa as the Match Support Specialist for the Waterloo School District. This staff position is co-supported by the Waterloo School District and Katie’s office will be located in Orange Elementary School during the school year. Katie lives in Cedar Falls and graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in May 2015. She has worked closely with youth and their families in the midst of crisis situations throughout Northeast Iowa. Katie enjoys connecting with the community and supporting individuals facing adversity. “I’m excited to be a part of BBBS of Northeast Iowa and partner with the Waterloo School District! I’m passionate about the work BBBS does because we provide opportunities for children to succeed and thrive through the development of positive mentor relationships. I’m looking forward to meeting and supporting our Bigs, Littles, and their families.”
