PHOTOS: Teddy Bear Tea Brings Santa and Dancing To Cedar Falls Kids

The event was part of the Festival of Trees and raised money for Sartori Memorial Hospital.

The Teddy Bear Tea was a successful event yet again this year.

The day, held at Saturday, started with a breakfast including muffins, doughnuts and orange juice. Every child had a teddy bear to take home, ordered through the Covenant Hospital gift shop. Teen dancers from performed for the crowd, followed by juggler Dean Franzen.

Mr. and Mrs. Santa Claus (Richard and Rita Congdon) arrived, and Mrs. Claus read the children Christmas books. The lines then grew for Mr. and Mrs. Claus to hear what the children wanted for Christmas this year.

The Teddy Bear Tea is part of the Festival of Trees, which raises money for . Over the past 22 years the Festival of Trees has donated more than $1.5 million dollars to the hospital.

This year, the 23rd anniversary of the festival, organziers hope to raise $85,000 dollars. The funds are will be used to buy enhancements for a newly purchased MRI Suite at Sartori Memorial Hospital.
