Associates of Farmers State Bank, Wheaton Franciscan Healthcare, UNI Athletics/Learfield Sports, and SCHEELS will be competing in relay teams to see which business can complete 26.2 miles on a treadmill the fastest. The event will raise funds and awareness for Magical Mix Kids and Medals4Mettle.
To participate, each team has made a $500 donation to Magical Mix Kids. Magical Mix Kids is a non-profit organization created to provide a worry-free vacation to Walt Disney World for chronically and terminally ill children of the Cedar Valley area and their families.
The event will also serve as a “Medal Drop Site” for Medals4Mettle, an organization which facilitates the gifting of medals to children and adults fighting debilitating illnesses who might not be able to run a race. Marathon, Half marathon, and Triathlon medals will be accepted for donation.
