Price Lab, Other Budget Cuts Inspire Another Full Day of Reaction
The calendar on Monday, March 5 is full of events geared at putting a stop to the recent budget cuts at the University of Northern Iowa.

Since the announcement of plans to close Price Lab last month, the campus has seen a flurry of marches, rallies and meetings, and this week will start no differently.

- A 24/7 study vigil organized by Students United for Academics will kickoff the week at 7 a.m., today on the ground floor of Seerley Hall on campus and continue until 7 p.m., Friday, March 9. The purpose is showing the university’s administration there are many supporters of academic integrity, according to the group.
- Citizens and students who hope to avoid the closing of the are lobbying at the Iowa State Capitol Building in Des Moines today. Although bus seats are full, those who wish to follow the group to Des Moines can meet the attendees at Price Lab at 8 a.m., this morning.
- The Iowa Board of Regents will be meeting via telephone at 10 a.m., today to consider UNI’s proposed 2012 Early Retirement Incentive Program. Live audio streaming of the meeting will be available to the public on the Board of Regents website.
- A session hosted by the UNI to inform parents and students of Price Lab about enrollment options in area school districts after the lab is closed. The meeting will take place today from 3 to 6 p.m. in the gymnasium at Price Lab.
