The Volunteer Long Term Care Ombudsman will carry out the duties described in the Older Americans Act. Volunteers will be assigned to a local facility and monitored by the program coordinator. Spend 3-5 hours per month in unannounced and varied visits to residents on any day of the week. Volunteers must be over the age of 18 and training will be required.
Volunteers will work with trained Iowa Heartland Habitat for Humanity site supervisors building homes with families in need. No construction experience is necessary.Volunteers age 18 and over are needed on January 18 from 8:30 a.m. until 3:30 p.m.
The Grout Museum District will be holding a day of service for the district from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on January 20. Volunteers age 16 and over will provide cleaning, ironing, painting and various additional tasks.
Volunteers are needed to assist elementary age children who will be taking part in on-site volunteer projects for MLK Day on January 20 from 10:00 until 11:30 a.m. Volunteers age 16 and over are welcome.
