
• The Volunteer Long Term Care Ombudsman will carry out the duties described in the Older Americans Act. Volunteers will be assigned to a local facility and monitored by the program coordinator. Spend 3-5 hours per month in unannounced and varied visits to residents on any day of the week. Volunteers must be over the age of 18 and training will be required.
• The Grout Museum District will be holding a day of service for the district from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on January 20. Volunteers age 16 and over will provide cleaning, ironing, painting and various additional tasks.
• Volunteers are needed to assist elementary age children who will be taking part in on-site volunteer projects for MLK Day on January 20 from 10:00 until 11:30 a.m. Volunteers age 16 and over are welcome.
• The Waterloo Blue Zones Project is holding a Walking Moai event on Monday, January 27 at Young Arena. Volunteers for the kick-off will assist with registering walkers and assisting with Blue Zones Project website registrations and directions during the following shifts: 6:00 – 8:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., and 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Volunteers age 16 and over are welcome.
