VCCV Weekly Volunteer Opportunities ~
• Black Hawk Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD) is partnering with IOWATER and the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (IDNR) volunteer water monitoring program to gather water quality data from the four branches of Dry Run Creek on September 21 from 9:00 a.m. until noon. Volunteers age 21 and over are welcome.
• UnityPoint Hospice is offering an opportunity to learn more about serving hospice patients and their families. Volunteers offer companionship, comfort, respite, and office assistance. Orientation will be held on four consecutive Thursday mornings starting on October 10, from 8:30 a.m. until noon. An interview is necessary prior to October 10. Volunteers age 18 and over are welcome.
• Riverview Center needs trained volunteers to provide crisis counseling and emotional support to survivors of sexual assault who call the 24 hour crisis hotline. Volunteers age 18 and over are welcome.
• RSVP is looking for volunteers to serve as Reading Buddies in partnership with the Waterloo Community School District. The Reading Buddy program for elementary students who are not grade level proficient in their reading skills. Volunteers age 55 and over are welcome.
