• Volunteers are needed for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Iowa Spooks, Spokes, & Sneakers bike ride and fun run on September 28 from 9:30 a.m. until noon. Volunteers can help out with registration/food service or handing out treats along the bike trail. Event will start/end at Gateway Park in Cedar Falls.
• UnityPoint Health - Waterloo / UnityyPoint Hospice is offering an opportunity to learn more about serving hospice patients and their families. Volunteers offer companionship, comfort, respite, and office assistance. Orientation will be held on four consecutive Thursday mornings starting on October 10, from 8:30 a.m. until noon. An interview is necessary prior to October 10. Volunteers age 18 and over are welcome.
• RSVP is looking for volunteers to assist with the AARP Tax Program. Training will be January 6, 7, and 8. Volunteers must work two half days, or one full day a week from February 3 through April 15. Services are provided Monday through Thursday. Volunteers should register for training by November 1. Volunteers age 55 and over are welcome.
• The Salvation Army is looking for volunteers assist in preparing and serving the noon time meal from 10:30 a.m. until at least 1:00 p.m. Volunteers age 16 and over are welcome.
