Green Iowa AmeriCorps is building passive appliances such as solar ovens, a solar home heater, water distillers, evaporative coolers, and rain barrels. The items will be built from almost exclusively recycled materials at Hartman Reserve on Sunday, September 15 from 9 a.m. - 12 p.m. Volunteers age 14 and over are welcome.
The UNI Culture and Intensive English Program is seeking families to include an international student once per month for meals, holidays, or family activities. Volunteers age 18 and over are welcome.
UnityPoint Hospice is offering an opportunity to learn more about serving hospice patients and their families. Volunteers offer companionship, comfort, respite, and office assistance. Orientation will be held on four consecutive Thursday mornings starting on October 10, from 8:30 a.m. until noon. An interview is necessary prior to October 10. Volunteers age 18 and over are welcome.
Ridgeway Place Assisted Living needs volunteers to assist the Activity Coordinator on outings with residents. Volunteers age 16 and over are welcome.
