• Delane 'Dick' Richard Olson (clreporter.com) — Clear Lake residents are saying goodbye to Delane "Dick" Olson, 94, a longtime community member who passed away at Oakwood Care Center. Services will be held October 24 at Galilean Lutheran Church in Clear Lake, with visitation the evening before and a military flag presentation by Clear Lake VFW Post 4868 honoring his Korean War service.
   

• Clear Lake hits 15 win mark (clreporter.com) — Clear Lake volleyball fans can celebrate as the Lions improved to 15-4 overall and 5-2 in conference play after sweeping two North Central Conference opponents in Charles City. Led by strong performances from Aria Johnson, Ella Landau, Aspen Hill, and Tenley McColley, the team now turns its focus to a home match Thursday against Hampton-Dumont-CAL.
   

• Winners Announced at the 2026 NIACC Pappajohn Entrepreneur Gala (niacc.edu) — Clear Lake businesses and professionals were prominently recognized at NIACC's 2026 Pappajohn Entrepreneur Gala in Mason City, with Dean Snyder Construction earning the Legacy Award and Lake Animal Clinic's Dr. Holly Neuberger named a Young Entrepreneur finalist. Local firms like Clear Lake Bank & Trust and Lake Pin & Play also featured among sponsors and innovation award finalists, underscoring Clear Lake's role in North Iowa's entrepreneurial scene.
