Davenport man accused of hitting person with wooden board, causing fractures (kwqc.com) — A Davenport man has been jailed without bond after police say he repeatedly struck another man with a wooden board on West 7th Street, causing multiple fractures and a serious head injury. Officers also reported finding a glass pipe with cocaine residue. The victim was hospitalized, and the suspect's arraignment in Scott County Court is set for October 15.
3. Noogiefest 2026 (Free Halloween Indoor Trick or Treat Event) (rcreader.com) — Families in Davenport can look forward to a free indoor Halloween trick-or-treat event, Noogiefest, at Gilda's Club Davenport on Saturday, October 17, from 3–5 p.m. The community-focused celebration will feature costumes, candy, snacks, raffles, entertainment, and therapy dogs, offering a fun, safe space especially welcoming to those impacted by cancer.
4. CornCon Cybersecurity Conference Coming To Davenport RiverCenter (quadcities.com) — A major cybersecurity conference is coming to Davenport's RiverCenter this Thursday through Saturday, bringing expert speakers, tutorials, hacker villages, a vendor expo, and an after-party. Organizers expect over 500 attendees, plus a Kids' Hacker Camp and a CISO summit, offering 16 continuing education credits at a relatively low cost for professionals and enthusiasts.
5. The Last Picture House Presents 'This is BUZZ' Screening and Conversation with Filmmaker Mark Pellington (rcreader.com) — Davenport movie lovers can catch a special October 5 screening of the documentary "This Is BUZZ" at The Last Picture House, followed by an in-person Q&A with director Mark Pellington.
