  1. Allegiant Airline has announced it will add new direct flights from Des Moines to Newark, giving central Iowans greater access to the New York City metro area. More than 30 Newark flights will be heading to and from Des Moines, which would require new terminal construction. This expansion is set to begin in 2024 if all goes as planned, reports KCCI.   2. The Des Moines Parks And Recreation annual report is now available to the public. The 2021 Report to the Community provides an overview of the department's significant accomplishments over the last year.
